In another celebratory act of the Queens 60th anniversary on the throne Chris Levine, a very highly respected visual artist will create a light show to showcase a replica of the Queen’s Coronation crown.
The handmade crown features 1000 brilliant cut diamonds and 25 fresh water pearls set in platinum. This particular piece took over a year to complete and will sit on a 3D hologram of Her Majesty’s head in the window of Asprey’s London window on Bond Street.
This installation will be showcased from the 28th of May to June, after which it will be sold at auction with the proceeds going to two of the Queens charities (The Woodland Trust and QEST). To create the 3D effect over 10,000 photos were taken and the piece has been named “Equanimity” inspired by a state of mind reached through meditation where a person is simply only observing.
