Legend has it that Aquamarine came from the treasure of the mermaids. The name is from the Latin, “water of the sea” and from ancient times was regarded as the sailors’ lucky stone.

Aquamarine belongs to the beryl family like emerald, morganite and heliodor. They are usually light sea-blues and greenish blues, with sparkling crystalline clarity. In the 19th century, sea green colours were popular but today the limpid blues are highly prized.

It is said to promise a happy marriage and bring its wearer joy and wealth. Our cocktail ring of the week is a stunning oval aquamarine set horizontally on the finger in a modern, elegant white gold bezel setting . Perfect for cocktails or any time!
