Every end of the year we usually see the strongest most interesting auctions of the year and this year wasn’t different. On the 5th and the 10th of the month two major auctions took place. The first and very impressive one was held by Sotheby’s and featured the Jewelry from the collections of Estée Lauder, Evelyn H. Lauder and Mrs. Charles Wrightsma.
The second auction was held by Christie’s on Dec 10 and featured unique diamonds and jewelry. Here are the more important diamonds that were auctioned in both auctions.
3.15-carat circular cut fancy reddish orange diamond that was estimated for $700,000 – 1,200,000 was sold for an outstanding $2,098,500
50.01carat rectangular shaped D-color flawless diamond ring, sold for a staggering $8,370,500.
An emerald-cut Fancy Vivid Yellow diamond weighing 52.73 carats was sold for almost $3.9 Million.
A pear-shaped Fancy Pink-Brown diamond weighing 26.96 carats set in an 18 karat rose gold ring sold for $1,426,500.
Sotheby’s expected the 47.14-carat Heart-shaped Yellow Diamond to fetch between $1.5 and $2. The pendant was eventually sold for $2,546,500 USD
Gorgeous Evelyn Lauder’s 6.54 ct. fancy intense pink diamond ring that was estimated at 4-5 Million dollars was closed at an unbelievable of 8.6 Million dollars.
